Dine Out Vancouver Festival 2016 has already started and is more than halfway through!
Presented by Tourism Vancouver, Dine Out Vancouver is in its 14th year of bringing Canada’s largest annual food and drink festival to Vancouverites. Hundreds of restaurants participate and offer a three-course menu at set price points of $20, $30, or $40. Some restaurants also provide customizable options and supplements, and beverage pairings. This year, the event is running from January 15 – 31, 2016 for 17 days, and there’s only 4 days left!

Summary: Maji Restaurant is the only Taiwanese stir fry restaurant (熱炒) in Greater Vancouver. It offers customers a real taste of Taiwan through its authentic dishes and imported beers and drinks. The food is good and affordable, so I’d eat here again.

Summary: Across the 7-11 on Victoria Dr is Lee Kim Restaurant, a Chinese-run restaurant serving Hong Kong Chinese and Vietnamese food. Despite cheap prices, the food tasted average, and I probably wouldn’t be back to eat again.

Summary: At the Heritage Steamship Terminal Building is the Steamship Grill & Bar serving premium West Coast seafood and prime steaks. With reasonably priced good food, daily happy hour, and a gorgeous view of the harbour, I would eat here again.

Summary: A warm and cozy space illuminated by candlelight, Ferris’ Oyster Bar serves Mediterranean inspired dishes featuring local seafood and premium steaks. With subpar service and overrated food for an “upscale” menu, I probably wouldn’t eat here again.

Summary: Just in the corner of Downtown Victoria by the inner harbour, Dog Gone It sells “wicked good hot dogs.” Choose from a selection of wienies named after actual dog breeds, or build your own dog. Being reasonably priced and tasting dog gone good, I would eat here again for a quick snack touring through Victoria.

Summary: Conveniently located just off the harbour surrounding many hotels, Harbour House offers a throwback to the olden days with its retro interior and servers in tuxes. Catering to West Coast food with steak and seafood at reasonable prices, I would come here again for the bread dippin’ good food and wine.

Summary: One of the few Vietnamese (and Chinese) restaurants in Courtenay, Pho Maple Noodle House serves average-tasting pho catered to a Canadian palate, with little noodle customization available. Although cheap with big portions, I would not eat here again unless I lived here.

Summary: Situated within the Kingfisher Oceanside Resort & Spa, The Breakwater Restaurant serves fresh, contemporary West Coast cuisine sourced from local suppliers and offers an amazing scenic view. Although pricey, the quality standard and taste of the food, along with the service, met up to its price tag, so I would come back to eat here again if I was staying at the resort.
